Organizers Drive Spanish-Latin American Music Tour Across Three Cities

The universal language of music echoed through Istanbul's Atatürk Cultural Center as musicians performed Spanish and Latin American classics at the AKM Theatre Hall. The event opened a three-city tour that continues in Antalya and Bodrum, drawing on boleros and tangos to highlight enduring musical traditions while directing proceeds toward heritage preservation in Türkiye.

Institutions shaping the programme

The concert was organized with support from the Embassy of Spain in Türkiye, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Cervantes Institute in Istanbul, the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Antalya and the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Muğla. These bodies framed the performance as part of a broader effort to celebrate shared Mediterranean heritage and strengthen historical connections between Spain, Latin America and Türkiye.

Mission behind the repertoire and proceeds

The programme moved between continents, presenting pieces that carried stories of romance and longing while underscoring music’s ability to cross languages more readily than words. Organizers stated that proceeds will support preservation of Türkiye’s archaeological and cultural heritage, linking the performance directly to safeguarding historical legacy. They also announced plans for a future charity concert to assist relief after two major earthquakes in Venezuela, extending the initiative’s focus from local sites to international humanitarian needs.

The Istanbul performance served as the opening stop. The tour continues at Antalya Atatürk Cultural Center and concludes at Bodrum Castle, carrying the same repertoire rooted in memory and human connection.
